“Art courses through the veins of Wanderlust – we weave it into the festival environment, paint it on your skin, and spread it across your screens.”
Art is really a big part of the Wanderlust Festivals. From face painting to Asana art, here are some of the talented and amazing Artists making these Festivals a little more colorful for the rest of us…
Tribal Markings • Wanderlust Body Artist
How do you make your mark in the world? Amir Magal makes his on other people’s bodies, through an ongoing art project called Tribal Marking. If you’ve been to a Wanderlust Festival you’ve probably seen his flowing, intricate scripts adorning many attendees. Armed with an array of body paint pens in a fanny pack, Amir roams the festival, painting, connecting, and reminding us that we are unique, but also part of one big, beautiful tribe.
Wanderlust Designer & Asana Artist
Maria draws on the energetic patterns inherent in asana. “I’m inspired by the curves and twists of each movement’s structure. I attempt to illustrate the flow of energy with colors, dots, and drips, creating a distinct feel for each pose,” Maria says.

Wanderlust Designer & Calligrapher Extraordinaire
“From a very young age, I have been attracted to art,” said Kanan Shah, graphic designer for Wanderlust. “I come from a spiritual family and growing up I would see my parents go to a hindu temple everyday in the morning to offer prayers. This became a part of my daily ritual, too.”
Yoga Teacher & Master Painter
For writers, artists and musicians, yoga can be an invaluable influence in the creative process. For Amanda Giacomini, a much-loved Wanderlust yoga teacher and talented painter, this intersection of creativity and yoga opened the channels of her creativity and beckoned her into the world of art.
As you wander throughout the festival, you’ll have a chance to encounter art in a variety of forms, from unexpected, seemingly hidden locations to giant shape-shifting installments. Our artists aim to expose you to the beauty found in nature via a broad scope of mediums and methods, making Wanderlust a fertile ground for the right side of your brain.
You’ll also have the chance to experience art for yourself. Watch (or join) a pop-up acro performance, ask our roving artists to adorn you with body paint, make a mandala, bring a sketchbook or journal, or simply welcome the spark of spontaneous creativity when inspiration strikes.
