Festival Spotlight: The Northwest String Summit


Now in it’s 14th year, the annual Northwest String Summit will return to North Plains, Oregon on July 16th – 19th.  As always Yonder Mountain String Band will headline the Festival along with an amazing array of local and visiting bands and artists ranging from bluegrass, country, psygrass, rock, folk, and more.  Some highlights of this years lineup include Greensky Bluegrass, Del Mcoury Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, Keller Williams, Rising Appalachia, Nahko & Medicine for the People, and many more. String Summit Ticketing

Again for 2015, we are implementing a new ticketing model based on quantities in a first come, first serve manner. There will be a limited availability of 3 & 4-Day Passes of each price level, and when that quantity is sold out they will automatically go up to the next price level, so BUY RIGHT AWAY AND SAVE!


Pass include admission for date specified on ticket, primitive camping. All cars will be required to purchase a parking pass at and additional fee Children 10 years old and under are FREE with paying adult. The Northwest String Summit is a rain or shine event.

No refunds will be given for inclement weather. Click here for Ticketing PricingBeginning in 2014 Horning’s Hideout will charge a nominal  Parking Fee to be paid upon arrival. All cars will need a parking pass. You may come and go, but you will need to have the parking pass visible or you will be charged parking again upon returning. 4-Day Pass prices include  primitive camping Thursday through Sunday. 3-Day Pass price includes primitive camping Friday – Sunday. And If available, 2-Day Passes will primitive camping Saturday – Sunday. We strongly encourage everyone to purchase their Parking Pass in advance of arrival to Horning’s Hideout. RV Passes are required for RVs to enter property. More info below. Thursday Entry/Pass – With the addition of Thursday Main Stage entertainment you can now buy 4-Day Passes in advance at different pricing date dependent and while supplies last. Gates will open for 4-Day Pass holders approximately at  12:00PM Thursday.

If you purchased a 3-Day Pass and wish to add Three Band Thursday entry, there is a code provided on your 3-Day Pass that will allow you to do so. Please note that same camping regulations apply for early arrivals. The gates open to the public beginning Thursday at approximately 1:00 PM. Gates will close Monday, at 12:00pm. Horning’s Hideout offers primitive camping only, unless RV pass is purchased. The camping areas will be separate from the parking areas. A Family Camping area will be open to anyone wishing to camp with children or otherwise enjoy a more quiet camping experience. We ask that noise and partying be kept out of this area.

Imagine a short drive west from Portland featuring trees, green rolling hills and a clean peaceful country setting. After a brief jog off the highway, you’ll arrive at a relaxing paradise called Horning’s Hideout. You have found a pacific northwest wonderland. We have all that you need to host your outdoor activities, including hosting a true Oregon outdoor wedding, fishing, picnicking, disc golf, horseshoes and lawn games, camping and live concerts.

An adventure awaits the active family or group, with enough open space for romantic walks through enchanted woodlands and around our glistening trout-filled lake. Horning’s Hideout is a magical place for forming lasting memories while secluded away from the city hustle and bustle.
