Some wonderful news coming from Tina Malia these days about her new album officially going on sale and other tasty tid bits like a benefit show with the likes of Nahko and Peter Yarrow as well as the Goddess Yoga Project. Here’s all the latest from Tina…
I hope you are thriving, wherever this message finds you! Here is a little update of music and events I wanted to share with you:
First, my new album, Bridge to Vallabha is officially on sale for pre-order on iTunes! Bridge to Vallabha is a collection of some of my favorite mantras and songs that I learned and wrote while traveling the world. There’s pieces in Sanskrit, Hebrew, Gurmukhi and English, and I brought in some of the best musicians I know to play and sing with me: Donna DeLory, Karnamrita Dasi, Heather Wertheimer (from Shantala), Jai Jagdeesh, Peia, Peter Kater, Hans Christian and many more. If you love my album Jaya Bhagavan, then this is the album you’ve probably been waiting for me to make for a while! It’s on sale TODAY in iTunes for $9.99, then officially releases on July 15th. With the pre-order you’ll get an immediate download of (my favorite track) Sita Ram, which is only available through this offer! Please visit iTunes for details.
Next is an event that is very dear to my heart- the Unity Concert Fundraiser happening NEXT WEDNESDAY, June 24th in Hollywood, CA. This evening is to raise funds and awareness about the Black Hills Initiative that would in essence return guardianship of the Black HIlls to the Great Sioux Nation. The event will include performances from myself, Nahko, Peter Yarrow (from Peter, Paul and Mary), Bethany Yarrow and more. It’s being held at the beautiful Gracias Madre in Hollywood, and I feel the magic of the evening already! If you can’t be with us in person, I hope you will still consider making a donation to our brothers and sisters in the Black HIlls! CLICK HERE for tickets and more info.
Also starting this week is The Goddess Yoga Project with Sianna Sherman, which is a four-week, goddess-inspired yoga practice using 5 classical techniques including mantra, mudra, meditation, pranayama and asana. Sianna is an amazing yoga teacher with an endless well of knowledge. I got to witness her first-hand while filming this project with her for Yoga Journal in Boulder- she absolutely blew me away! Sianna invited me to create the music for this series, so you’ll hear me interwoven throughout the videos. I also wrote 4 songs specifically for each goddess that are included as downloads with the course.
